CBT for Social Anxiety
In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), individuals change how they think as they work through their social anxiety. The result is greater ease in doing the things they wish they could do -- such as meet new people, date, give a speech, walk through a crowd, go to a party, eat out, and make phone calls. Decreasing social anxiety can often make life more enjoyable and lead to more rewarding social connections. In the following 18-min. video slideshow, I describe social anxiety disorder and its treatment. This slideshow should be informative for those with social anxiety disorder and the providers working with them.
